I just LOVE networking. For some information, I’m even prepared to provide you with my mail address.
But. As in most communication – have you ever considered there’s a contract? A contract between you as a supplier of information – and me as a receiver. As in all contracts, there’s a underlying hope (and reason) of functionality. A contract makes stuff work smoother. At least, that’s the idea.
What I ask for is a tiny thing. In an evergrowing flow of information you would make me happy. I’m not asking for much. And in exchange I will become a better planner – maybe even a better person. All I want you to consider is MY part of the communicative contract. Ever considered why there’s a line often marked “Subject”?
I guess this is where important stuff goes. Important for your customer, that is.
But you may be busy creating drama. Create cliff hangers.
What I am asking for is for you to stop contenting – and start interacting with customers. And put the freaking date of your conference/webinar/meetup in the Subject Line.
